Training Wrap Up...

Hey runners! Things are winding down here in Litchfield. My mileage is tapering down and not just because I have another marathon coming up. I've logged well over 900 miles for 2008 and I'm feeling pretty much done.

Oh I'll try to keep a base of 15-20 miles per week just so I don't blow up like a balloon over the winter. But training for 2 half and 3 full marathons has really sapped my mojo.

Don't get me wrong, I feel great and my running feels like it's been taken to the next level. I made it through the year with little to no injuries, shaved 10 minutes off my half-marathon time, and 40 minutes off my full marathon time. I've improved my running form, quickened my pace and turnover on hills and have a much better understanding of the importance of nutrition during long runs (read: avoid bonking).

As I head into my final taper towards the Manchester City Marathon, I'm proud of the mileage I've put up this season and the progress I've made. I've got nothing to prove on November 2, just gonna kick back and enjoy the ride.

Take care of yourselves and your running...
